NORTHERN LUTRAI
This was the N-Type, or North Theatre lutrai. If he looks a bit pointy it’s because he’s descended from war stock, specifically the north fleet lutrai line. They were littoral marines, infiltrators, commandos, and saboteurs, and to this day their line retains many of the traits for which they were originally selected. They’re stronger, faster, and rougher than their southern cousins, though not quite as good at swimming. They build their villages along rivers and around lakes, spending more of their time on land or in the snow, since the majority of them can still be found in the Arthandurian Lakeland. Here they work with the skoles to secure the region against Tamaran incursions.
Because they share territorial overlap with the skoles of Freilu, these folk tend to be better armed and battle-ready. They have a mutual defense pact with their former canine comrades-in-arms, and strong ties built over nearly two hundred years of post-war cooperation. Though not so carefree as their southern cousins, they still share their love of games, music, boating, fishing, and the hockey-like aktak-ru.
