I write a lot to go along with these drawings and this is where I’m going to combine them into illustrated stories. Stories and lorebooks are available in web format right now but I’ll be including illustrated downloadable documents as well, and title card illustrations like you see on the right. Stories will have a short summary to let you know the context, though most of them will revolve around the world of Rym and the lutrai.

LUTRAI LOREBOOKCounted among the nilkind, the artificial races of the fallen Creator State, these otter-like humanoids were uplifted to take the place of their masters in naval combat, aquatic rescue, and waterpark management. Centuries after the downfall of the great Bygone, their organizations have become the tribes of their new world – Splashdown, Aquapark, Big Slide, etc. They now seek to re-discover the great northern Lakelands and the southern archipelago of Cekus, seeking clues to the genesis and evolution of their artificial forms. Here’s a sample of the Lutrai Lorebook, laid out in web form or as a downloadable PDF. This is just a sample, mind you, with some illustrations and other examples of what the pages will look like. We’re going to produce an online resource first and, once that’s all done, an actual book. For now, though, this is just to give you an idea of what’s going to be inside. 
MACHINE LOREBOOKHundreds of years ago, the kuil attempted to transcend their own mortality and create their own artificial afterlife – the False Hyphael. It all went terribly wrong, and with the fall of their great automatic empire, Rym’s humankind became the Machines, the undead of this new world. From crystal-jacketed assassins and death priests to statuesque moda mannequins and even ghosts in the mall, these are the remnants of Rym’s greatest civilization. Their nation is Axis, the wasteland of dust-blown motorways and crumbling city domes. The second in the series is still under construction but has many resources completed already. We're creating an entire hierachy of Rym's resident undead and we wanted to give them a bit of a twist. They're robots with broken souls bound to them, false immortals whose day has come and gone. |
